The Department of Computer Science traces its history back in 2010, when the Govt. of Punjab established well equipped IT Centre at Govt. Emerson University, Multan. For students choosing an IT or CS program is difficult, but significant decision. Our IT program is all about innovation, flexibility, and convenience. We are dedicated to developing the finest degree program and producing graduates with diversified set of skill, roles and experiences, including knowledge in Software Engineering, Networking, Information assurance, Cyber security and Multimedia production. All IT courses focus on critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills. Our IT programs prepare students to solve problems and apply new technologies within an increasingly interconnected and changing global environment. They emphasize career success through lifelong learning and professional development at all levels of the curriculum.
The department creates the environment of create, share, and applying knowledge in Computer Science & Information Technology, including in interdisciplinary areas that extend the scope of Computer Science, Information Technology & Software Engineering and benefit humanity.
It provides high quality instruction to our students, and equips them with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in Information Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering that they need to take up real-world challenges.

Admission Criteria
ELIGIBILITY FOR BS PROGRAM
Intermediate with any one of the following combinations with minimum 50% marks
a) Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry (Pre-Engineering)
b) Physics, Chemistry & Biology (Pre-Medical)
c) Mathematics, Physics & Computer Science
d) Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science
e) Mathematics, Statistics & Physics
f) Mathematics, Statistics & Economics
g) Mathematics, Computer Science & Economics
h) Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) with at least 60% aggregate marks in the relevant discipline
ELIGIBILITY FOR POST-ADP (IT)
The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Post ADP(IT)), the candidates require the following caritera for admission in BS Information Technology (Post ADP).
I. Required Associate Degree under semester system program in (CS, IT, SE) with (15 Credit Hours in Computer Science and 8 Credit Hours in Mathematics)
II. ADS/BA/B.Sc./14 years of Education with
a) Mathematics (200 Marks) and Computer Science (200 Marks) OR
b) Statistics (200 Marks) and Computer Science (200 Marks).
The applicants having 3rd division (i.e. less than 45% aggregate marks under the annual system or less than 2.00 CGPA under the semester system or less than 60% marks under the semester system (where CGPA is not available/mentioned)) in the terminal degree are not eligible for admission.
The age of candidate should not be more than 26 years for admission to BS 5th Semester orequivalent.
Merit Determination
Subject to the Admission Criteria, all the admissions in BS, MA/M.Sc, MS/M.Phil, Ph.D or equivalent programs shall be made on the basis of merit calculated as under:
BS PROGRAMS
(Marks Obtained in SSC / Total Marks x 30) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 70)
Provided that additional 20 marks of Hifz-e-Quran shall be added in obtained marks of Hafiz students in last degree.
POST ADP PROGRAMS
(Marks Obtained in SSC / Total Marks x 20) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 30) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 50)
Provided that additional 20 marks of Hifz-e-Quran shall be added in obtained marks of Hafiz students in last degree.
