The Department of Emerging Computing Technologies traces its history back in 2010, when the Govt. of Punjab established well equipped IT Centre at Govt. Emerson University, Multan. For students choosing an Artificial Intelligence or Cyber Security or Data Sciences program program is difficult, but significant decision. Our emerging computing program is all about innovation, flexibility, and convenience. We are dedicated to developing the finest degree program and producing graduates with diversified set of skill, roles and experiences, including knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Multimedia Data Science and Multimedia production. All emerging computing courses focus on critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills. Our emerging computing programs prepare students to solve problems and apply new technologies within an increasingly interconnected and changing global environment. They emphasize career success through lifelong learning and professional development at all levels of the curriculum.
The department creates the environment of create, share, and applying knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security & Data Science, including in interdisciplinary areas that extend the scope of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security & Data Science and benefit humanity.
It provides high quality instruction to our students, and equips them with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security & Data Science that they need to take up real-world challenges.

Admission Criteria
ELIGIBILITY FOR BS PROGRAM :-
- At least 50% marks in Intermediate/ DAE with Mathematics as a subject or equivalent 12 years education with Mathematics as a subject are required for admission in all BS/ BSc Computing Programs except BS/ BSc/ BE Computing Engineering.
- At least 50% marks in Intermediate Pre-medical (subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology) or equivalent 12 years education are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if admitted, are required to study additional two Mathematics courses, worth 6 credit hours, during first year of studies at the institution.
- At least 60% marks in Intermediate/ DAE with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ CS or equivalent 12 years education with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ CS are required for admission in all BS/ BSc / BE
Engineering program.
Note: The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent marks certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan’s Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). The following are the addresses of the IBCC offices:

ELIGIBILITY FOR POST-ADP (IT):-
The minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Post ADP(IT)), the candidates require the following caritera for admission in BS Information Technology (Post ADP). I. Required Associate Degree under semester system program in (CS, IT, SE) with (15 Credit Hours in Computer Science and 8 Credit Hours in Mathematics) II. ADS/BA/B.Sc./14 years of Education with a) Mathematics (200 Marks) and Computer Science (200 Marks) OR b) Statistics (200 Marks) and Computer Science (200 Marks). The applicants having 3rd division (i.e. less than 45% aggregate marks under the annual system or less than 2.00 CGPA under the semester system or less than 60% marks under the semester system (where CGPA is not available/mentioned)) in the terminal degree are not eligible for admission. The age of candidate should not be more than 26 years for admission to BS 5th Semester orequivalent.
Merit Determination
Subject to the Admission Criteria, all the admissions in BS, MA/M.Sc, MS/M.Phil, Ph.D or equivalent programs shall be made on the basis of merit calculated as under:
BS PROGRAMS
(Marks Obtained in SSC / Total Marks x 30) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 70)
Provided that additional 20 marks of Hifz-e-Quran shall be added in obtained marks of Hafiz students in last degree.
POST ADP PROGRAMS
(Marks Obtained in SSC / Total Marks x 20) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 30) + (Marks Obtained in HSSC / Total Marks x 50)
Provided that additional 20 marks of Hifz-e-Quran shall be added in obtained marks of Hafiz students in last degree.
