Treasurer Office

The Treasurer is a whole-time officer of the University. This office provides financial management services to the University faculty, administrative staff and students, ensuring transparent, speedy and effective reporting system. The Treasurer’s office manages the financial assets and liabilities and likewise the receipts and expenditures of the University. The Treasurer’s office assists the Vice Chancellor in making financial decisions. The issues regarding student funds, scholarships, pension, salary and internal and external audit are also managed by the Treasurer’s office. The Treasurer is the chief financial officer of the University and responsible for:

  • managing the assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures, funds and investments of the University;
  • preparing the annual and revised budget estimates of the University and present the estimates to the Syndicate;
  • ensuring that the funds of the University are spent according to the budget or any other special arrangement;
  • ensuring that the accounts of the University are audited annually and are available for submission to the Syndicate within six months of the end of a financial year; and
  • performing such other functions as may be prescribed or assigned to him by the Syndicate.
