Introduction

The Department of Zoology is as old and prestigious as was defunct Emerson College itself. Initially in the 1920s, the Department of Biology emerged with the birth of Emerson College. In the 1940s, Zoology at graduate level was launched. This Department has its splendid traditions of dignity and devotion. Most learned and renowned professors have been a part of this dignified Department. It has proudly produced so many internationally famous scientists and professionals. Currently this Department is the richest Department with PhDs sustaining the traditions of its inimitable glory. This is one of the best departments among others of Emerson University. Presently 10 faculty members are serving here, among them 8 PhDs possess stupendous educational skills, qualified from international Universities as well as indigenous scholarships. The HOD of this Department has ample experience in the fields of neuroscience and fishery. This Department has an independent building furnished with a rich library and marvelous museum which caters all the emerging trends and needs of the elevated aspirants in the discipline of Zoology.
