Baseball Tournament Organized by HEC at EUM
The All Pakistan Sports Competition is an annual event organized by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, which aims to promote sports in the country’s universities. This year’s Baseball tournament is taking place at Emerson University Multan and has attracted several universities from across Pakistan, including Punjab University Lahore, Superior University, University Lahore, Islamia University Bahawalpur, University of Lahore, the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences – UVAS Lahore, Bahauddin Zakaria University, University of Central Punjab Lahore and Emerson University Multan , all of whom are competing for the championship trophy.
The tournament kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, which was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan, the Vice Chancellor of Emerson University, Mr. Asif Majeed, the Chairman of the Evyol Group, Fakhar Shah, President of the Pakistan Baseball Association, Arshad Sattar, Vice President of the Pakistan Wrestling Federation, Professor Jam Mukhtar, Registrar Emerson University Multan and Dr. Abrar Mohyuddin, Deputy Registrar, Emerson University Multan. During his speech, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of sports in shaping the overall development of students and encouraged them to take part in such activities alongside their academic pursuits.
Mr. Asif Majeed, Chairman of the Evyol Group, also spoke at the ceremony and promised his company’s support for the development of sports at Emerson University. He assured the players that the private sector is willing to play a significant role in the development of sports facilities and in creating opportunities for young athletes.
Zafar Sherwani, the Director of Sports, took the opportunity to thank everyone who made the event possible, including the organizers, volunteers, and players. He also acknowledged the hard work and vision of the Vice Chancellor in promoting sports in the university and the region.
